On August 20-21, 2024, the Save the Pollinator Flower Show was held. This is our third year doing this event and each one has been a little different. We had a big jump in children entering in flowers, 41, and an increase in the categories, 17. The response from the participants (both adults and children), the enthusiasm when they walk into the room bringing their entries continues all the way to their flowers being placed on the table. When they come back the next day, the excitement continues. This year it seems as if more people were inquiring about different varieties of flowers to grow, concerns on why some did not do well, and they were looking forward to next year. Nancy Bevilacqua set up a display and answered questions from soil to various types of flowers on Wednesday. Next year we might consider doing this on both days. Thank you, Nancy, for being part of this year’s flower show. This event is not possible without the Master Gardeners volunteering for this event. You make it a fun project to do. Everyone comes together to help set-up, break-down, talk with the participants answering their questions and they leave saying “See you next year”. A big thank you goes to Sam who helps from the office, and another thank you to Grace Kunkel, our Extension Agent. We are so glad to have you! Thank you for your support. Again, a huge thank you to the volunteers who came on Tuesday and Wednesday. You all are Awesome. I love working with each of you. Laurie Clarkson, Chairman
